This book was actually a present to my husband from his kids one Christmas–we love it! It's a reference book for beverages and food pairing. You can look up almost any beverage to see what foods compliment it and vice versa.
For tonight's dinner, I'm making a grilling chicken on the Big Green Egg that's been marinating in buttermilk and Frank's Hot Sauce. Based on what I'm reading, I'm leaning towards either a Chardonnay or a Zinfandel. This book even has suggestions for pairing KFC or Popeye's chicken–a dry Spanish sherry.
I'm serving the chicken with green beans sauteed with bacon. Bacon is also showing as having Chardonnay or Zinfandel as a potential pairing.
Tonight's dinner will also feature grilled corn on the cob…this book says Chardonnay. Chardonnay is probably what I'll serve with tonight's dinner.
It's also a fun read with recipes and short stories. I highly recommend "What to Drink with What you Eat" by Andrew Dorenburg and Karen Page for any foodie!
