This is another one of those dishes that was gobbled up to quickly before I could take a photo.  I thought it would be fun to have Phily Cheese Steaks while watching the World Series.

  • 3 lbs of Steak
  • minced garlic
  • olive oil
  • fresh cracked pepper

Put steak in freezer for about 10-15 minutes so it’s easier to thinly slice.  Toss slices of steak in bowl with garlic and pepper (to your taste) and olive oil.  Let sit while you start on the vegtables.

  • 1 sweet onion thinly sliced. (I like cutting it in half before slicing to make it easier and safer to cut)
  • half red pepper and half green pepper thinly sliced (or just use one whole pepper).
  • olive oil

Saute onion and peppers with olive oil until the onions begin to carmelize and the peppers are soft.  Add pepper and salt.

  • sliced mushrooms
  • fresh chopped parsley
  • butter

In a separate pan, saute mushrooms and parsley.  Salt and pepper.  (I saute mushrooms on the side because not everyone in my family appreciates them as much as I do).  I used truffle salt on the mushrooms but regular sea salt is fine.

Once vegtables are near done, saute the steak in a hot pan with olive oil.  Be careful not to over crowd the pan.  I cooked the steak in two batches, adding the first batch the onion/pepper pan when it was almost done (you don’t want it to be over done.  A little pink is just fine).

  • Pepper jack cheese
  • Stadium Rolls

Slice pepper jack cheese and put on one half of the stadium rolls.  Broil until the cheese is melted.   Add steak, peppers and top with thinly sliced cheese and then top with hot mushrooms.

Enjoy!
